More than 3000 visitors – likely interested and qualified buyers - attended the second Design Fair Berlin in 2011.
In excited and coincident relaxed atmosphere many well-formed designer pieces changed their owner.
Many contacts were expanded and furthermore several exhibitors made follow-up deals.

Design Exchange for classical and contemporary furniture and product design in FritzClub Postbahnhof Berlin

The Design Fair & Marketplace Berlin will take place in the "Postbahnhof" location. The classic industrial property from the 19th century was formerly used as a rail track hall and is located in the heart of Berlin. The upper floorhall with its 2,000 sq m is predestined to present design objects, as furniture, interior design, technique, glass, ceramic, metal, jewellery, fabrics & clothes, fashion & art. Rare originals, like outlines by Arne Jacobson, Charles & Ray Eames, Alexander Begge, Egon Eiermann, Eillen Gray, Mies van der Rohe or Wilhelm Wagenfeld will be displayed by 75 exhibitors and can be purchased by the visitors. We enjoy announcing special exhibition highlights in the new Fair-Market catalogue which is available – online 14 days previously.

Beside classical avant-garde and vintage furniture from the 1950s to the 1970s the GDR and her sometimes fancy design will be valued and offered. Much more objects than the well known signal light "Ampelmann" and the "GDR plastic chicken egg cup" are to be discovered by design lovers, collectors and museum representatives as well. They can complete their repertoire with collectable objects or trash items made in GDR.

In line with the exposition locality Berlin contemporary and experimental concepts are highlighted consciously. Fancy innovations, outlines, prototypes or in small series handcrafted furniture, lamps, jewellery and everyday objects of young product designer from Berlin show how to proceed the tradition of successful design.

The Design Fair & Marketplace in Berlin accumulates succeeded and outstanding objects throughout the century from Art Deco and Bauhaus to brandnew creations of the recent design scene. All exhibits are special selected, lively presented and immediate purchasable.

The coffee bar in the basement, a book seller with newly printed books adapted to the topic and a Snack Area invites you to lounge and browse in between. Our DJ Live music program on the first floor - during sunshine outside on the terrace – will entertain you as well.
